Why they're hard to open now

IBM stopped supporting Lotus 1-2-3 in 2014. Modern Excel opens few Lotus files, and Numbers and Google Sheets open none.

What this page does

It reads the file with libwps (the reader LibreOffice uses for Lotus files) and shows each sheet as a table, with numbers in the formats the spreadsheet used. Formula cells show their last worked-out value; point at one to see the formula.

Save a sheet as CSV for free. The unlock saves the whole file as one Excel workbook, and converts folders of files at once.

Which files

.wk1 (1-2-3 release 2 for DOS), .wk3 (release 3), .wk4 (1-2-3 for Windows release 4 and 5) and .123 (Lotus 1-2-3 97 and Millennium).

Questions about this

Are macros kept?

No. Lotus macros were stored as text in cells, so you'll see them, but they won't run in Excel.

Charts?

Charts aren't drawn; the numbers behind them are all there.
